Brotherhood Speaker
Wednesday, December 2, 2020 • 16 Kislev 5781
6:00 PM - 7:00 PMA presentation by Kim Arcand, a visualization scientist who works for NASA's Chandra X-ray observatory at Harvard University.
As a visualization scientist, Kim uses the raw binary data received from the space telescope to create astronomical images and animations. She then incorporates these images into multimedia platforms to use in her presentations. Kim is co-author of five books on the cosmos and the recipient of numerous honors.
The focus of her work is science communication and she has given presentations to audiences as diverse as school children to world renown scientists. This promises to be a really fun and educational experience and we strongly encourage children and young adults to attend. The topic will be "Holding A Dead Star".
