We hope you and your students a good break. We look forward to resuming class tomorrow night. Please make sure your students sign up for Spring electives, see the link below.
This Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., a shiva minyan service for Murray Siroka will be held at Brightview in Canton. There will be NO weekday evening service at Temple. Please join us next week on March 4, 7:40-8:00 p.m., in the sanctuary as we continue to support members who are saying Kaddish for loved ones and take a few moments out of the busy week for meaningful prayer.
Talmud for Today - Join SAM Luckey and get to know the rich texts of the Mishnah and Talmud, Jewish texts that contain stories, commentary on Torah, and laws that have stood the test of time. Engage in discussion and debate through the Talmudic process of argumentation and how the ancient wisdom of the rabbis still has something to teach us today.,
Israeli/Palestinian Conflict 101 - You hear about it in the news but what does it all really mean? Why has this conflict not been settled yet and how did it begin? Join the rabbis to get a deeper sense of successes and failures in solving the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. Learn about why it matters if Israel is to be a Jewish and democratic country. Prepare yourself to respond to this debate both in your classes and one day on college campuses.
Second Hour 7th-12th Grade
Modern Hebrew - Many of you took Heberw Boot camp in the winter and have asked for more. In this class the rabbis will go into more depth about how to speak Hebrew, build vocabulary and verbs, and use the language of our people for use in restaurants, shops, meeting people and more. We will also use newspaper, storybooks and videos to help with the learning.
The Art of Story Telling - A great rabbi was famous for telling wonderful stories. Yet, sometimes, his students were frustrated. “Rabbi,” they would say, “Can’t you just tell us what you want to tell us WITHOUT making everything into a story? “If I could teach without telling you stories, of course I would! But I can’t. THAT’S why I tell stories!” In this elective, join Josh Conescu in learning wonderful Jewish folk stories and how to tell them. Students will also choose stories to record as an “audiobook” and create illustrations to go along with them. Bring your imagination and a willingness to make some art!

L'Taken Social Justice Seminar
Declan Crichton, Rebecca Graham, Shira Kaminski, Julia Ritzenberg, and Eli Wasserman returned yesterday from the L'Taken Social Justice seminar in Washington D.C. at the Reform Movement's Religious Action Center. They learned about important social issues and how our movement engages the legislative process to make change in our country. These Temple Beth David teens joined hundreds of Jewish high school students from around the United States for a weekend that culminated in lobbying members of Congress about issues they care about. We look forward to participating in L'Taken again in 2022.
