Welcome back. The focus of this weekend is Shabbat! Several years ago with the Shorashim Education Committee, we created "Shorashim Shabbat Family Experiences"on certain weekends. The goal was to make it possible for students and families to experience Shabbat at Temple Beth David with Shabbat dinners, family-friendly services, a relevant story, and enjoyable oneg (Shabbat treat). These are meaningful community-building experiences. While we are not yet resuming large indoor meals at temple, the value of Shabbat celebration remains. Student participation in services is connected to their Hebrew learning and is important practice (especially for 4th-6th grades). Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest, offers time to pause and to be together with family and community.
With this in mind, you have a few options for Shabbat celebration this weekend including family-friendly Shabbat evening and morning services, at temple and at home. Please see details below and let us know any questions. We look forward to celebrating with you! There are no classes this Sunday morning.
(All indoor services are spaced in the sanctuary/social hall and require masks and vaccination if eligible).
