We look forward to a final night of classes before break. Keep posted for new elective sign ups for the spring trimester starting the end of Febraury.
We can use parent support for the new weekday evening minyan service on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:00 p.m. The purpose of this brief prayer service is to give mourners in our community a chance to say the Kaddish prayer on a more regular basis, not just on Shabbat, and to support our fellow congregants. It is also an opportunity for anyone in the congregation seeking a time for reflection, introspection and prayer. We are looking for 10 adults. It is easy to stop by a little early before you pick up your students. Thanks for your help!
L'Shalom,
Rabbi Micah and Rabbi Karen

6th Grade Book Drive
As part of the B'nai TELEM (Boston area service-learning program), the 6th graders learned about the value of literacy and mitzvah of helping children read. They were surprised to learn that, "Two-thirds of American classrooms have fewer than 50 children's books and almost 60% of childcare centers buy fewer than one book per child per year" (JCRC Literacy Coalition Manual). In this spirit, the 6th grade class is holding a book drive through the month of January. Please donate new or gently used children's books for a general audience. Books will be donated to the Cradles to Crayons organization. They are highly in need of books for ages 8-12. Baby board books are also welcome. We all have books sitting on our shelves at home - let another child love them!
