First "Jewish Story Walk" at TBD! Light by Jane Breskin Zalben
Parents, thank you for all your support and encouragement! While we can't have our regular large Shabbat dinners at temple, we are trying something new this Shabbat with a casual outdoor dinner assuming the rain stops. We're sending this message a day early as we need your dinner RSVP by the end of today, latest tomorrow morning. Please note there are no classes this Sunday morning. See details below and let us know any questions.
Shorashim Family Shabbat Experience Friday, October 29 (in place of Shorashim session on Sunday, October 31)

In this time of firsts, we are trying an outdoorweather permitting Shabbat dinner catered by Comella's. Put on your parka and enjoy a cozy, memorable Shabbat dinner at Temple. Advanced sign up is required (no cost to enrolled K-6 students) by no later than Thursday morning. Relax and meet other families. Followed by a child-friendly Shabbat service indoors with distancing and masks. The service will also be livestreamed. All are welcome! 4th Grade Siddur (prayerbook) blessing will take place during the service. Take home Oneg/treat for everyone!
The links below offer resources for you to celebrate Shabbat evening at home including the words for blessings at the table - candles, blessing for children, kiddush, challah and birkat hamazon, the blessing after the meal. There is also a link for how to sing the blessings and a spotify playlist of Shabbat songs to bring music to your Shabbat table. Make your own special Shabbat meal! You can also find the Temple Beth David livestream link and e-prayerbook link on the temple homepage - join us for services from home.
Every Sunday morning we need parent volunteers to help especially when children are outside. Due to COVID, students are outdoors as much as possible. We need adults to walk the perimeter around the temple to help with security, and to assist teachers with moving supplies. Get your steps in! Please volunteer for at least one session.
