Dear Families,
We hope you are having a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing your family at temple soon! This message contains important information about the start of our Shorashim Religious School year.
Your family is also welcome tomorrow evening Aug. 23 for a camp-style welcome back Shabbat! Bring your own picnic dinner in the Rosen at 5:45, challah and drinks provided (please let us know you're coming to leah@templebethdavid.net ) and enjoy a family-friendly Shabbat service outdoors at 6:30 followed by end of summer treats!

Sunday, September 8 - Opening Session! Grades K-6, 9:30-11:30 am Everyone will begin in the Sanctuary for opening songs, blessings and introductions. Learn about our educational theme, "Our People's Story: An Excellent Adventure!" Parents, please plan to stay the whole morning for coffee, a parent orientation, and to meet the teachers and one another. BBQ By Brotherhood at 11:30 am for all!
Tuesday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 11 First days of Hebrew classes for Grades 3-6 NOTE: Each student will attend Tuesday OR Wednesday afternoon - class assignments were emailed earlier this summer. * Students in grades 4-6 should bring their siddur (prayerbook) to temple on the first day.
Wednesday, September 11 - First Double Chai! Grades 7-12, 5:30 pm Dinner and 6:00-8:00 pm Classes
Friday, September 13 First Shorashim Family Shabbat Experience & Friday Night Live! 5:45 pm Community Shabbat Dinner catered by Bertucci's (RSVP information coming soon) 6:30 pm Shabbat Service with the band - joyful, family-friendly, kids will particate, followed by Oneg Shabbat (in place of Sunday Sept. 15 session)
Classes continue Sept. 17/18, 22, 24/25.

Parenting Through a Jewish Lens - NEW Parent Class
Join Hebrew College’s popular Parenting Through a Jewish Lens with Rabbi Hillel Greene and Rabbi Karen Citrin at Temple Beth David this fall! Starting November 3.
What is Parenting Through a Jewish Lens?
A 6-week discussion-based program for parents to explore Jewish values and holidays, find support, gather resources and build community. (come to as many as you want)
Recommended for parents of kids ages 0 to 12.
Open to parents of all backgrounds and experiences; a special welcome to interfaith families.
Classes meet Sundays from 10-11:30 am.
