The Temple Beth David Shalom Corner Early Learning Center OPENS TODAY! This is a historic moment for our congregation and community as we open our doors to our youngest learners and their famiies!

Rosh Hashanah begins this Monday evening. For the safety of our community, everyone attending in-person services is required to pre-register; capacity is limited. For security purposes, please print your confirmation email and bring it to the service as your ticket.
Everyone attending in-person services who is eligible
to be vaccinated, must be vaccinated. 
Livestream is available for all services.

We rely on volunteers to serve as ushers. If you plan to attend services
in person, please sign up to help.

To help prepare, we are using the special prayer book Mishkan HaLev: Prayers for S'lichot and the Month of Elul during services this month.

On this journey our soul will awaken to itself... We will move from self-hatred to self-forgiveness, from anger to healing, from hard-heartedness to brokenheartedness... It is the journey from little mind to big mind, from confinement in the ego to the sense of ourselves as part of something larger... Every soul needs to express itself.  Every heart needs to crack itself open... These needs did not arise yesterday. They are the most ancient of human yearnings, and they are fully expressed in the pageantry and ritual of the Days of Awe.

Prepare for the High Holidays with the rabbis; please find the special Rosh HaShanah text below. All are welcome including beginners! We will meet at the temple along with Zoom.

Please join our temple build from 9:00-3:30 on Sunday, September 26 at 5 Highview Street in Westwood. Participants must be 16 or older and no tools or building experience are needed. We are limited to 6 builders due to Covid so sign up today! For more information or to sign up please click here:

The Fundraising Committee will be hosting an in-person 60th Anniversary Gala at the Temple on Saturday, December 11, Covid permitting. We welcome volunteers to help to plan, promote, and implement this special celebratory event. If you are interested in participating on the 60th Anniversary Gala Committee, please contact Lori Friedman by September 10 at loriel17@verizon.net.

The Social Action Committee's 5-minute survey is still open! As part of the WDICA campaign, let us know what social issues you care most about; this is your opportunity to have the issues you care most deeply about counted! Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and share with others in your household.

SSH and JF&CS Family Table Donations

The temple is continuing our commitment to JF&CS Family Table and Father Bill's & Mainspring Shelter. 
Family Table - Whole grain pasta and canned salmon
Father Bill's - individually wrapped breakfast items and travel-sized toiletries.
Please drop donations in the bins in the lobby.
Jewish Family and Children’s Services is appreciative of the donations made to their food pantry by the Temple Beth David community. Bring pasta or salmon when you come to temple. Family Table also has a wish list on Amazon here. The items are in priority order, so please send what you can. Thank you for your continued support!

Sisterhood & Brotherhood

Please join Sisterhood for our meeting TONIGHT at 7:00 pm to learn about upcoming events and see where you might want to get involved.  All members, whether you're returning or new, are invited and encouraged to attend. The meeting is hybrid, so join us either in the Temple library or via Zoom. 

It’s that time of year again! Please join us and renew your Sisterhood membership, or join us as a new member. All are welcome! We have much planned for the coming year and all our fundraising proceeds directly support our Temple Beth David community. Click here to join

Temple Office Hours
This Week
The temple's administrative staff and clergy are currently working remotely and in the office. Leah or Leslie can be reached via email during regular temple office hours Tuesdays-Fridays. The temple office will be staffed Tuesdays-Fridays 9:00 am-1:00 pm. The rabbis are available by phone, Zoom, or in person.
For pastoral needs, please call the main temple number and you will be directed to the rabbis.
