As we know from English, "and" is an important connecting word. In Hebrew, if you see the letter "Vav" at the beginning of a word it means "and." For example, "V'ahavta" means, "And you shall love." The letter Vav also becomes a vowel when it appears with a dot above (oh) or a dot on its left side (oo)!

Shabbat BaBayit (Shabbat in the Home)
You can still join the Temple Beth David Community for Shabbat BaBayit (Shabbat in the Home) on Friday, January 10!
Gather together in the home of fellow members of our temple community to celebrate Shabbat. Shabbat BaBayit is a way of enjoying Shabbat in the homes of congregants and getting to know each other better. We invite you to open their homes as hosts or to sign up as participants. All ages are welcome! You will be matched with other families with similar age children in a close geographic area. Everyone will contribute food or beverage for the meal. Each home will be provided with resources to create a meaningful Shabbat dinner experience. We especially hope that Shorashim families will participate - give your child the gift of a memorable Shabbat experience!
