This will be a warm and inclusive service led by TBD's Sisterhood. The theme is, "Refuat HaNefesh: Healing our Spirits." Edie Selles will give the dvar Torah. The service is dedicated in loving memory of Anny Goldstein. Enjoy the Oneg Shabbat to follow.

All are welcome to join the Shorashim religious school for an interactive "learner's minyan" Shabbat morning service with student participation. Questions are welcome. A great way to celebrate Shabbat, feel more comfortable at Shabbat morning services, and enjoy lunch after!

Lunchtime Talmud continues this Thursday with the rabbis. Bring your lunch; texts provided. We are studying the first tractate, B'rachot (Blessings). All are welcome, beginners included!
Tu Bishvat Seder Sunday, February 9, 10:45-11:30 am
Though it might be snowing here, in Israel spring is around the corner and the leaves are beginning to show buds! We’ll gather to celebrate the New Year of the Trees and give thanks for our earth. The Kabbalists of Tzefat created a beautiful ritual for Tu Bishvat, a special seder experience including tasting a variety of fruits of the earth, 4 cups of colored wine/grape juice representing the 4 seasons, and sharing stories of trees and creation from our tradition. Our Tu Bishvat Seder is a joyful, musical gathering for all ages, with an emphasis on Tikkun Olam, repairing our world. We especially need volunteers to help with set up. Adult B'nai Mitzvah Meeting Sunday, February 9 at 1:30 pm
A new group is forming now! This is an introductory meeting to learn more about the process and what is involved. All are welcome; you can decide to commit after the meeting. If you have not done so already, please let Rabbi Karen know that you are interested.

Brotherhood Breakfast
The next Brotherhood Breakfast will be this Sunday, February 2 at 9:30 am. This is an excellent time to meet and mingle, while enjoying a delicious meal, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. The program will feature temple member Rich Lustig who as a member of the Zamir Chorale traveled to Berlin, Germany in December to participate in the Louis Lewandowski Music Festival. Rich will present historical context about the Jewish people in Berlin and highlights of this year's festival. The breakfast will begin at 9:30 am and the program will begin at 10:00 am.The cost for the breakfast is $10.00, except those who have pre-paid. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the program.
Sisterhood Film Club
The Film Club will meet at on Sunday, February 9 at 4:00 pm at the West Newton Cinema for a film about Moshe Dayan and his family. The film is part of the Israeli Film Festival. Men are welcome. Contact Linda Holiner if you are interested in going. Optional gathering afterwards to discuss the movie.

Family Table
Family Table South serves over fifty families in our area who are dealing with food insecurity. "How can I help?" Here are a few ways: 1) (MOST helpful) Bring WHOLE GRAIN pasta or canned salmon to the wicker basket outside the sanctuary or the wooden bin in the school lobby each time you come to Temple Beth David. 2) Order a case of pasta or canned salmon on Amazon to be shipped to Family Table c/o TBD. 3) Volunteer to sort, count or deliver food to the Pantry. Contact lynnkaminski@verizon.net for more information. 4) Donate to the Social Action Committee's fund at TBD to supplement our deliveries when the bins run low.
